I think one of the curious things that I'm learning from this whole process is how a big change is actually made up of lots of small ones.  People ask if it feels like a big leap, which it does, but the small changes that we are making on the way to the big leap are more poignant at the moment.  You have micro relationships with people, where you say hello and have a brief chat every week for eight years, then relatively suddenly you don't see them anymore.  I guess these will be replaced by other micro relationships in new jobs, social circles and so on.  I wasn't expecting that.
